1Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the RideMate platform (website and services), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2Account Registration
To use certain features of our platform, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and rent an e-bike.
3E-Bike Rental Agreement
When you book an e-bike through RideMate, you enter into a rental agreement. You agree to:
- Pick up and return the e-bike at the designated store within the agreed rental period.
- Use the e-bike in a safe and responsible manner, following all applicable traffic laws and our Safety Guidelines.
- Not sub-lease, lend, or allow unauthorised persons to use the rented e-bike.
- Return the e-bike in the same condition as received, subject to normal wear and tear.
- Report any damage, malfunction, or accident immediately to the rental store.
4Pricing & Payment
Rental fees are displayed on our platform and are charged on a weekly basis. A refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, though changes will not affect existing confirmed bookings.
5Deposits & Refunds
A deposit is collected at the time of booking to cover potential damage or loss. The deposit will be refunded after the e-bike has been returned and inspected by store staff. Refunds are typically processed within 3–5 business days. Deductions may be made from the deposit for:
- Damage beyond normal wear and tear
- Late return fees
- Missing accessories or equipment
- Cleaning fees if the bike is returned in an excessively dirty condition
6Cancellation Policy
Bookings may be cancelled before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellation policies may vary by store. For cancellation requests, please contact the store directly or reach out to our support team. We reserve the right to cancel bookings in cases of suspected fraud, safety concerns, or unavailability of vehicles.
7User Responsibilities
As a user of our platform, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations while using our e-bikes.
- Wear a helmet at all times while riding (as required by Australian law).
- Not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Not use the e-bike for any illegal, racing, or commercial purposes.
- Bear responsibility for any fines or penalties incurred while using the e-bike.
8Liability & Insurance
RideMate provides e-bikes that are regularly maintained and inspected. However, riding an e-bike involves inherent risks. By using our services, you acknowledge these risks and agree that RideMate is not liable for injuries, accidents, or damages arising from the use of our e-bikes, except where caused by our proven negligence. We recommend riders have their own personal accident insurance.
9Intellectual Property
All content on the RideMate platform — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of RideMate Technologies Pty Ltd and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our prior written consent.
10Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms of Service, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the platform. Upon termination, all rental obligations remain in effect until fulfilled.
11Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
