Safety Guidelines
Your safety is our top priority. Please read and follow these guidelines before every ride.

Important: Australian law requires all cyclists to wear an approved helmet. Failure to do so may result in a fine. Helmets are provided free at every RideMate store.

1.Helmet Requirements
- check_circleA helmet must be worn at all times while riding an e-bike. This is a legal requirement in Australia.
- check_circleHelmets are provided free of charge at each store when you pick up your bike.
- check_circleEnsure your helmet fits snugly and the chin strap is securely fastened before riding.

2.Road Rules
- check_circleE-bikes must follow the same road rules as regular bicycles in Australia.
- check_circleRide on the left side of the road or in designated bike lanes where available.
- check_circleObey all traffic signals, signs, and road markings.
- check_circleUse hand signals to indicate turns and stops.
- check_circleDo not ride on footpaths unless signage permits it.

3.Visibility & Awareness
- check_circleAll RideMate e-bikes are equipped with front and rear lights. Ensure they are working before you ride.
- check_circleWear bright or reflective clothing, especially when riding at dawn, dusk, or night.
- check_circleStay alert and watch for pedestrians, vehicles, and obstacles at all times.
- check_circleAvoid using headphones or mobile phones while riding.

4.Speed & Control
- check_circleOur e-bikes have a maximum assisted speed of 25 km/h as per Australian regulations.
- check_circleReduce your speed in wet conditions, on gravel, or in crowded areas.
- check_circleKeep both hands on the handlebars at all times.
- check_circleUse both brakes evenly to slow down — avoid sudden hard braking.

5.Parking & Locking
- check_circleAlways park your e-bike in designated bicycle parking areas.
- check_circleDo not block footpaths, building entrances, or accessibility ramps.
- check_circleUse the built-in lock whenever you leave the bike unattended.
- check_circleThe bike must be returned to the same store where it was picked up.

6.In Case of Emergency
- check_circleIf you are involved in an accident, call 000 (emergency services) immediately.
- check_circleContact the rental store using the phone number in your order details.
- check_circleDo not attempt to repair or modify the e-bike yourself.
- check_circleIf the bike develops a fault, stop riding and walk it to a safe location.
